John A. Burns has served on the Fairfax County Architectural Review Board since 1995, the body which is currently overseeing the Hollin Hills Historic Overlay District. Mr. Burns worked at the National Park Service for more than 50 years, most recently serving as Chief Appeals Officer, Cultural Resources and prior to that as the Deputy Chief for HABS/HAER/HALS. He has served as a Director for Virginia AIA and has been recognized as a Fellow by both The Association for Preservation Technology International and The American Institute of Architects. He is a resident of Goodman's Hollin Hills neighborhood in Fairfax County, VA.
